Day 7

Doing pretty good. My blood infection is showing staph which can be treated by pill antibiotics. So, at this point they want to leave things along unless I spike a temp. Still not had anything to eat and my throat is still sore. I have been able to talk and get some water down without it burning. Rectum and surrounding areas are raw which make it difficult to walk, sit and sleep (Get comfortable) I mean.

MB, the Oaks sounds like fun. I hope I will be up to the event.

My counts are going up slowly:

HGB 9.8
WBC 80
PLT 31 K

Looks like your counts are going up some! You sounded good on the phone yesterday...so positive, but ready to get out of there!!! Five more days!!! Maybe sooner, who knows. Tell the doc that we'll take good care of you here if he'll let you leave sooner.
Sounds like you and Marybeth have some Derby time plans. Maybe we'll come in town this year and enjoy Derby week. I can't remember the last time we were in town for Derby....I don't think we ever have, have we?

Keep up your spirits and keep the faith!!
Hugs,
Cathy

Sounds like you're on the upswing!! I hope you can make the Oakes too. Cathy, Keith and kids should definately come down for the Derby. I don't know why they haven't before..too busy, I suppose. Cathy, the kids and I have our first spring break together. We plan on going up and visiting for a couple of days. I am really looking forward to it. Hope you get out of the hospital soon. Keep the faith!

Keith told me you likely will be d/c'd on Tuesday!! Good for you. He also said that your sister and hubby will be driving up that day to take you home on Wednesday.....so, not much longer until you are home sweet home! Things are looking up and I am so glad.
Keith and Connor are going on a campout this weekend...Christi and I are going to get Chinese food..yummy!
Have a good evening,
Cathy
